IEPurpose of the Post
· To support the Director of Nursing in the overall management responsibilities and professional standards for the Disability Service.
· Supporting and mentoring staff teams in the delivery of a high quality service to the Service Users.
· Be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing by taking an active role in the professional leadership, development and management of the nursing and care assistants - in the service.
· Take a lead role in developing systematic and structured frameworks in order to facilitate clinical practice development and innovation within the service.
· Lead on behalf of the Director of Nursing on strategic projects that develop and improve nursing services and contribute to the overall development of service and the achievement of any development objectives.
· Lead and support the overall continued development of the Services in accordance with national plans and strategy.
· Participate in meeting the HSE policy objectives for the Services.
· Develop and manage the nursing quality assurance programmes.
· Plan, manage and implement the statutory/ mandatory training requirements of staff under their area of responsibility.
· Be concerned with the execution of local policy decisions and with the management and effective utilisation of resources.
