Position Description - Manager - Logistics
The primary responsibility of the Logistics Manager is to manage regional logistic needs for Fanatics. This position ensures the timely cost effective movement for both domestic and non-domestic shipments. Works closely with customers and carriers to resolve logistics issues. Establish control-related standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manages the logistics operations for transportation of product. This includes negotiating rates and monitoring carrier performance.
- Effectively tracks and reports all incoming and outgoing shipments and advises status. Resolves issues.
- Ensures compliance with import/export regulations.
- Provides freight costing to assist sales with prospective customers.
- Works with internal manufacturing and sourcing managers to maintain a complete and detailed security plan to be available for customs review upon request. (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorist)
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Transportation
- Experience with import/export preferred
- Knowledge of customs, brokers, and foreign carriers
- Must be able to exercise independent judgement on a regular basis
- Excellent computer skills (database applications, Excel, Lotusnotes)
- Knowledge of transportation principles and practices, including classifications, rate structures, documents, and service labels required
- Experience with all forms of transportation (air, rail, ground, sea)
- Strong analytical skills
